Continuing with the snow theme, here’s a picture from later that day (from yesterday’s post). I guess I did leave the house long enough to do a couple of turns on the awesome hill that was in our neighborhood.

I’m fudging a little bit on my rules, I guess. I technically did not take the picture (since I’m finally in one!), but I showed my husband exactly what to do and had the camera all set up for him. And I am the one doing the editing.

I love my daughter’s face in this picture. You can tell she’s apprehensive, but knows that the ride is going to be good. Ha!

The snow is really on the cool side, but I like that with snow. I took all the warmth out of the picture and then added a little bit back into my face. My face was interesting to work on. My nose was red because it was cold out. I used an adjustment brush on my nose and moved the tint slider more towards the green to negate the red. It worked a little bit. I had also increased the contrast of the photo, which didn’t do any favors to our faces, so I used an adjustment brush on them to soften them back up a bit. I decreased the contrast in the snow, but then used an adjustment brush to add back some contrast to my jacket and Ashlyn’s hood. Oh, I cloned out the branch and then cropped in to place us more on the thirds — I think the cropping also helps to give the picture more movement. Here is the original:

    1. Thank you! I don’t mean for that to keep showing up on my photos. I put the watermark on a photo for something and forgot to take it off. Now Lightroom keeps putting it on everything I export, but I’ve been too lazy to go back in and correct it.
